How To Stop Procrastinating - To be Productive!

Actually, What is procrastination?

Procrastination is the act of delaying or putting off tasks until the last minute, or past their deadline.

There are times you have thoughts or want to do something more fun. I know I struggle with this every day. Generally, these thoughts arise because...

  • you AVOIDING SUFFERING!

  • you AVOIDING HARD WORK.

  • you are unhappy or have no JOY.

  • you are overwhelmed.

  • you haven't enjoyed it before or feel you will not enjoy it.

What can you do if you feel…

1. Overwhelming.

You may have too many or too big takes - Break it up into smaller tasks.

  1. Make a list of all the things you want to do and need to do!

  2. What must be done first? The urgent list comes up.

  3. What must be done next? Pick just one task at a time.

2. Not enjoyable the first time.

You may have it done in the past, and it made you unhappy to do the task,
and you think it makes you unhappy again to do it.

  1. Find out why you were or are unhappy. The most common reason is work!

  2. Outsource or delegate the task that makes you unhappy!

  3. Are you feeling anxious or bad because you think others won't like it, you won't be able to finish it on time?

    1. Then is short find it out! You don't know whether it will be good or bad.

    2. In order to feel better, you need to figure out what or why makes you feel bad.

3. Your mind tells you your are not good.

Do you know this thought? You are insecure that you are not good enough?

  • Ask yourself: Have you ever done this before? If so, ask how?

  • Ask yourself: Are you capable of doing it? This doesn't mean that you are bad.

When you lack skills, give them to others or develop them. It will take time, so be patient about developing the skill.

4. You compare yourself to others!

You see that someone is better than you, and you want to give up?

  • Don't believe your fantasy! The fantasy does not make you happy! (Your thoughts will always be there)

  • Consider this: What is the most important thing you want in your life? Is it meaning, purpose, or peace?

    • Does purpose, meaning or the beach bring you peace?

    • How do you prevent yourself from suffering? It's you! CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS AND YOU WILL NOT SUFFER.

    • You should go back to work and let your thoughts go. Please don't give up!

    • You can either take a small break, meditate, or break it into even smaller tasks and celebrate when you complete them.

    It's just a story in your head without any meaning or purpose! Reality is different from our thoughts, and we are not to let our thoughts control us.

5. Suffering because of other things, not the original task.

Are you feeling unwell, stressed, or have you seen bad comments?

The fear of falling makes you think selling a lot is good, but selling less is bad. That is fear.
Outcomes aren't just about you; there are many factors to consider. It's not about how much time you spend or what you accomplish. Do your best and then move on.

We have an idea, and we think we have to do it! Remember that you are in control. When you feel fear, you go to mind-numbing activities, such as watching TV, playing video games, or cleaning.

  • Your brain is always looking for a quick solution to make you happy. Our happiness comes from what gives us a sense of highs and pleasure, such as eating sweets, watching TV, surfing the web, watching videos of cats or dogs...

How to stop doing it.

KNOWING HOW TO DISCIPLINE YOURSELF - What do you feel in the moment? Why do you want to drop the task? Get back to it! Stop suffering from these thoughts. Look at them! You will find peace afterward!

YOU THINK YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND YOU DON'T START!

  • Ask yourself: Is this true?

  • Have you tried it before?

  • Once you try it, you will know whether it works or not. Just try it out!

6. You fear missing out if you do the task.

Don't think that it's a waste of time. Maybe it isn't an easy task, and you'd prefer to do something else. Stay focused on your task and let your thoughts wander. Write down the other things that come to mind and do them later.

EXPERIENCE is what makes us happy. Meaning, if you succeed in harder tasks, you will be happier than if you search for easy ones.

Let's not wait for short-term fun moments like parties, going out, watching TV, and so on. You would procrastinate when you think about fun moments because your brain craves dopamine.

If all you want is short-term happiness, you will be unhappy in the long run.

A life of fulfillment is. How to be happy no matter what your circumstances!

7. The task is not the right fit for you.

The task may be too difficult or not within your skill set. As a result, you are not motivated to complete it. Alternatively, you could outsource it if it's not a good fit or let it go. Maybe that's not the right job for you as well.

Final Thoughts 

What you keep telling yourself over and over again is procrastination, and because of the thoughts, you avoid doing the work.

Keep analyzing your thoughts and why they arise, but do not become distracted from the not-so-easy tasks. You can do it!
